I normally do not travel with a lot of accessories because I forget to change my earrings or necklaces while traveling. Yet, my mother who travels even more than me, having been to 70 countries, loves her jewelry and wants to have a different look every day.
The other day she asked me if I knew of any tricks to pack her jewelry because it keeps getting lost or tangled, and a travel box takes up too much space. So, I found 7 jewelry packing tips that are easy, cheap and kind of blow minding.
If you have any other tips to keep your jewelry safe and organized while traveling please let us know in the comments below.
1. Pill case
The pill case is a classic way to travel with your rings, earrings and small necklace. It is also nice because it has 7 divisions, which helps organise the small pieces, and easily let me how many pieces jewelry I am taking with me.
2. Straws
Using straws to organize your jewelry is the most genius idea I found on the internet. You use it to keep your necklaces tangle free, by feeding them through the straw. It is quite a smart trick that takes up almost no space.
3. Toilet Paper Roll
Using an empty toilet paper roll is perfect if are taking bracelets and bulky necklaces. Wrap the bulky items around the roll, keeping them organized and all together. It is really cheap and we all have some in our home, I hope.
4. Travel Towel
It is always good to take a small towel with you for any emergency and it is great if you can give it an extra use. You just need to put all your necklaces in the towel, roll it up and tie it with a hair band on both ends. Keep your jewlery organized and safe from getting squished.
5. Index Card
Index cards are great for earrings. If you poke the index card with your earrings and then you close the back, you are set to go. I recommend to cover the index card with a sock or underwear to protect the earrings from scratching or getting caught on other articles of clothing
6. Little Plastic Bags
If you do not mind untangling your jewelry but do care about losing anything small, I recommend buying small sealable plastic bags to put your items individually. Then put all the little bags in a sandwich sized sealable bag for an organized bag and any easy way to find the jewelry you want each day.
7. Travel Jewelry case
If you travel quite often you might want a jewelry case made specifically for travel. They are not that expensive but are only necessary if none of the previous tricks work for you. It will protect your items from tangling, scratching and being misplaced, but does take up more space and comes with an added up fron cost.

Okay, I know, I'm a dude and shouldn't really have to worry about THAT much jewelry. But the truth is, I'm a bit of a Hippy, and that automatically makes me a bead necklace freak....and earrings,.....and I travel relentlessly, wander actually, so sincerely, I found this post very helpful. Honestly, there is NOTHING sadder than a Hippy with tangled love beads....

Those big necklaces can be the worst when tangled, 20 minutes of suffering to figure them out!
