If you are looking to go glamping in NC look no further! In this guide you will find everything you need to know to start planning your new glamping adventure in North Carolina.
For the longest time, Steven and I, have been planning to stay in a glamping dome in North Carolina and we finally made it happen at Glamping Unplugged. It is such a unique experience that even if you have gone glamping or camping before, it’ll be an amazing time. It is a dream spot and an absolute Instagram worthy experience.
Glamping in NC:
Unplugged Glamping is located 15 minutes outside of Boone, NC on a picturesque 8.5 acres of land along the creek in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It is the perfect place to unplug and stay off the radar for a couple of days.

Keep in mind that you will have zero access to WiFi, cell service, plumbing, and electricity. You will be disconnected from the outside world and have the amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the company of your friends, partner or family.
There are 3 luxury, eco-friendly Geodesic Dome overlooking a state-stocked trout stream, each with its unique style and advantage. Glamping Unplugged is pet friendly with an additional one-time $35 pet fee. Be aware that you must contact them beforehand as there are some breed restrictions. The three different domes are the Original Dome, Treehouse and Starry night.
The glamping domes are located a short walk from the parking lot along a grassy road. They provide a nice sized pull wagon to help transport everything you need for your vacation from the car to the dome. There is only one wagon per dome, so you might need to take multiple trips or borrow another wagon if you make sure to bring it back! The wagon should be waiting for you at the parking spot and you can keep a hold of it for the duration of your visit.

If you are looking for more privacy and to be a little bit further from the creek then the Starry Night Dome is best for you. We stayed in this dome and it was perfect as we had our two dogs with us and did not have to worry about the other guests as much. Either way, it is always recommendable to have your dogs on a leash when outside the dome. The downside of the Starry Night dome is that you do not have a direct access to the creek. Also, if you are coming with children it does not offer regular sized bunk beds, rather it has two smaller bunk beds cots you can set up as needed. It is the only dome that is on top of a small hill, so be aware that you have to climb several stairs to bring all your gear in.
The Original Dome has a king size bed and a bunk bed, which easily fits four people. It does have a direct access to the river down a short staircase and it is the perfect dome to take photos and videos with your drone.
The Treehouse also has its own creek access and two “built-into the deck” cargo net hammocks for you to enjoy the creek from the comfort of your dome and a hanging swing under the deck. The treehouse dome offers a king size bed and a bunk bed. Each dome also offers a deck with a nice sitting area for relaxing and cooking. Each deck comes with charcoal grill BBQ, deck chairs, and a fire pit or chiminea.
All the Glamping Unplugged domes include the following:
- King or queen size bed and bunk beds.
- Clean sheets in addition to linens and pillows.
